How to get client reviews
On Polish Perfect, a client doesn't search for you to write a review. You show your QR code, and the client scans it. By the end of this page, you'll have your code printed or saved, and you'll know what your client does next. To see why these reviews matter, read how reviews work.
Your business type
Before you start
- If you're an owner: a Polish Perfect account and a claimed listing. If you haven't claimed yours yet, claim your business first.
- If you're a nail tech: a tech profile. Your code comes with it. See how to create a tech profile.
- A printer, or your phone. You can print the code or show it on your screen.
Get your first reviews
- 1
Open your Reviews page
If you're an owner, sign in and open "My Listings". On a phone, that's the "Listings" tab. Tap your business, then tap "Reviews". On a phone, tap the menu button at the top of the listing first, then tap "Reviews".
If you're a nail tech, open "Profile" and tap "Reviews & QR". On a phone, tap the QR icon at the top of your profile.
- 2
Find your QR code
Your code is on the Reviews page. An owner's code has the business name under it. A tech's code is in the card called "Your Review QR Code". The link under the code opens the same page the code does.
On a computer, once your business has reviews, the code sits to the right of the list and only shows on a wide window. If you don't see it, make the window wider or open the page on your phone.
- 3
Download or print it
Tap "Download PNG" to save the code as a picture. Tap "Print" to open a page with the code, the words "Scan to leave a review", and the link. Then print that page.
- 4
Put it where clients will see it
Owners, put the printed code at your counter. Techs, keep it at your station or on your phone. You can also copy the link under the code and send it to a client.
- 5
What your client does
Your client scans the code with a phone camera. No account and no sign-in. First, the client takes a photo of the nails or picks one from the phone. A photo is required. Next, on "How was it?", the client taps 1 to 5 stars. Stars are required. A short description is optional. Then the client taps "Submit Review".
With a business code, the client is then asked "Who did your nails?" and picks a tech or taps "Skip". With a tech's code, the client is asked "Where did you get your nails done?" and searches for the salon, unless the tech has already confirmed one.
- 6
Confirm where you work, if you're a tech
A review that names you at a business you haven't confirmed waits on your Reviews page under "Pending Confirmations". Tap "I work here" next to that business. The waiting reviews then go up on your profile and on the business's listing.
- 7
Reply to a review, if you're an owner
On your listing's Reviews page, find the review. Tap "Respond" on a computer, or "Reply" on a phone. Write your reply, up to 500 characters, and tap "Send". Your reply shows under the review as "Owner response".
You can reply to each review 1 time. After you send it, the reply button is gone.
What happens next
A review from your business code goes up on your listing as soon as the client submits it, with the photo and the stars. If the client named a tech, it also goes on that tech's profile. If that tech hasn't confirmed your business yet, the review waits until the tech does.
Each review counts toward your star rating and your review count, which show on your listing. An owner's Reviews page shows both, with every review the business has received.
For salons, reviews also open a door. The Top-rated salons section on the homepage picks from claimed salons with at least 5 reviews, best rated first. Read from your city page to the homepage.
Something went wrong
- My tech Reviews page says "Set up your nail tech profile to start receiving reviews."
- You don't have a tech profile yet, so there's no code. Follow how to create a tech profile, then open the Reviews page again.
- My client's photo won't upload.
- The photo has to be a JPEG, PNG, or WebP file, up to 10 MB. Ask your client to take a new photo with the phone camera and try again.
- My client can't tap "Submit Review".
- The button stays off until the client taps a star rating. Ask your client to tap 1 to 5 stars first.
- My client can't find the salon after scanning my tech code.
- The search finds nail salons that are live on Polish Perfect, by name. Ask your client to type the first few letters of the salon's name. If it still isn't there, have the client scan the salon's own code and pick you under "Who did your nails?".
- A client left a review, but I don't see it.
- It's most likely waiting on a tech. A review that names a tech only goes up after that tech taps "I work here" for the business. Techs, check "Pending Confirmations" on your Reviews page. Owners, ask the tech to confirm. If nothing is waiting, email support@polishperfect.co.
