Why verify a nail license?
Every nail technician working a station must hold an active license from their state cosmetology board. Verifying a license confirms the tech is legally allowed to practice and has met the state's training and sanitation requirements — protecting you from unlicensed, unsanitary work.
What "active" vs "expired" means
An active license is current and in good standing. An expiredlicense means the tech has not renewed — they may simply be between renewals, but they aren't cleared to practice until it's renewed. Status is recomputed from the board's published expiration date.
Which states are covered?
Verification currently covers Texas and California, sourced directly from each state's official cosmetology-board data. We're adding more states as their boards' records become available.
