How to post a nail tech job
These steps put your opening on your city's jobs page, on your listing, and in the feed. You tap answers about the role and how it pays, check a preview, and publish. To see where techs find your post and what an application looks like, read how hiring works.
Your business type
Before you start
- A Polish Perfect account, signed in.
- A listing you've claimed, live on Polish Perfect. Not claimed yet? Claim your business first.
- Your answers for this job: the role, full or part time, and how it pays. Salons are also asked about average tips per day.
- Hours, photos, and services filled in on your listing. The state and national jobs pages only show posts from listings that are mostly complete.
Post your job
- 1
Open a new post
Sign in and go to Home in your dashboard. On a computer, click "New post" at the top of the page. On a phone, tap the round blue plus button on the Home tab, at the end of the row with All, Jobs, Deals, and Referrals.
You can also start from your listing: open it from My Listings (Listings on a phone) and tap "New post" beside Your posts ("Create a post" if you have none yet). Those screens ask the same questions and also let you pick a photo for the post. The buttons there read "Preview Post" and "Post Now".
- 2
Choose Hiring
Under "What do you want to post?", tap Hiring. If you have more than one business, tap the right one under "Posting for" first. A post belongs to one listing.
- 3
Pick the role and the schedule
The screen is called "Add details" and asks "Who are you hiring?". Under Role, tap Nail Tech, Receptionist, Manager, or Other. If you tap Other, type the job title in the box that opens. Under Job type, tap Full-Time or Part-Time.
Supply stores see Sales Associate, Cashier, Warehouse Associate, Manager, or Other. Schools see Instructor, Admissions, Front Desk, or Other.
- 4
Choose how the job pays
Under Compensation, tap 60/40 Commission, 70/30 Commission, Booth Rental, or Hourly + Tips. If you tap Hourly + Tips, a Pay range opens: type a low and a high number, then tap per hour, per week, or per year. Under "Average tips per day", tap the range that fits, or tap Varies.
Supply stores choose Hourly, Hourly + Commission, or Salary. Schools choose Salary or Hourly. Each of those asks for a pay range, and stores and schools aren't asked about tips.
- 5
Check the services, then preview
Under "Services this role does", the services on your listing start selected. Tap any to add or remove them. This one is optional. When every other question has an answer, tap "Preview post".
For a supply store this question is "What this role works with". For a school it's "Programs this role covers".
- 6
Read the Title and Description
The Preview screen shows your post as a card, with a Title and a Description already written from your answers. Change anything you like, or tap "Write it for me with AI" for a new Description. Read it closely. You can't edit a post after it's published.
- 7
Publish
Tap "Post it now". You'll see "Your post is live!". Tap "See it in the feed" to go back to the feed, or "Post another" to start a new post.
What happens next
Your post runs for 30 days, then hides on its own. It shows in the feed, on your listing, and on the public jobs page for your city: nail salon jobs, supply store jobs, or nail school jobs. Still hiring after 30 days? Create a new post.
A tech who wants the job signs in and sends two things: 3 to 5 photos of their own work, and a note to you. Each application opens a message thread in your dashboard Inbox, and you get a notification in your dashboard. Reply in the thread. Each tech can apply to a post once.
Licenses and client reviews aren't part of an application. If the tech has a public profile on Polish Perfect, the application links to it.
Something went wrong
- I see "Add your business first"
- Your account doesn't have a listing yet, and a post has to belong to one. Tap "Go to My listings", or follow how to claim your business, then come back and start again.
- The "Preview post" button stays gray
- One of the questions has no answer yet. Check Role, Job type, and Compensation. If you tapped Other, type a job title. If a Pay range is showing, it needs both numbers and a per hour, per week, or per year choice, and the high number can't be lower than the low one.
- "Post it now" stays gray, or I get an error
- The Title and the Description both need text. The Title can be up to 100 characters. If you see "Failed to create post. Please try again.", tap "Post it now" once more. Still stuck? Email support@polishperfect.co.
- My post is live, but it isn't on the public jobs page
- Public pages only show posts from a listing that is live. If you added your business recently, its page may not be published yet. It goes live on its own, and your post shows up with it. The state and national jobs pages also need your listing to be mostly filled in.
- I need to change or remove my post
- You can't edit a live post. On a computer, open your listing from My Listings, find the post under Your posts, and click the trash can. Confirm, then post again. A deleted post can't be brought back.
